Your credits
How the cask divides
€1 paid = 1 credit
your bottles = your credits × the rate
That's it. There is no other sum, and nothing else gets a slice before you do.
The rate is set on the day the cask is filled, and never changes. We take what the cask is expected to give and divide it by what the whole club would pay across the full five years. That figure is fixed from the fill onwards — so on the day you join, we can tell you what a full term is worth to you, and it will still be true in year four.
Which means your figure only moves when you do. Another member joining doesn't shrink it. Another member leaving doesn't inflate it. The one thing that changes your number is you paying another month.
And if someone stops paying, their whiskey doesn't come to you. They keep every credit they earned and stop earning more; what they didn't pay for goes back to Flying Tumbler. We think that's the only version that's fair — you shouldn't be quietly better off because somebody else's circumstances changed.
Credits are a share of a cask, not money, and they are never cashable. The rate is fixed; the cask's final outturn isn't known until it's emptied, so the bottle figure can still move a little with the cask itself.
Where it is in its life
Your say in how it ends
One vote each, whenever you joined. You see the room's split and never who voted what — and changing your mind is expected, not awkward: a new choice writes over your old one.
The room you drink in
A guest ticket
You don't pay at the door — you never do. A guest pays €40 for their seat and gets the same five glasses and the same sheet as everyone else. It isn't a membership and nothing recurs.
One guest each. If yours joins inside seven days, they get their €40 back as 40 credits — and you get 40 credits in your own cask once their second payment clears.

How your local can reach you
Your local sees these so they can ring you about a night, and so your bottles have somewhere to go at the end of the cask. Both are optional. Clear a box and it's gone.
Cancel whenever you like — tell your local or reply to any club email and it's done. No notice, no penalty, and you keep every credit you've earned: they stay against the cask exactly as they are.
